Threading
Threading is a type of hair removal for men and women that has origins in India and Central Asia. We see it used now for removing and shaping eyebrows or other unwanted facial hair.
With threading, a thin cotton or polyester thread is doubled, then twisted and rolled over areas of unwanted hair This results in the plucking of the hair at the follicle level. Due to this technique, threading can remove short rows of hair versus individual hairs that tweezing can. It also can be more precise in shaping eyebrows than waxing. For our sensitive clients it can also be gentler on the skin.
Most commonly used for eyebrows, it is also a method of removing unwanted hair on the entire face, including the upper lip. Threading is not a good method for removing hair on arms or legs, as the hair in those regions is typically quite coarse and there is too much to remove.

Eyebrow waxing can last anywhere between 3-6 weeks, while threading typically lasts 2-5 weeks. So waxing your eyebrows would have slightly longer-lasting results. However, the longevity of the results is pretty darn close and depending on your hair growth pattern, the amount of time both will last could be nearly equal for some clients.
You want to make sure to let your hair grow out for 2-3 weeks in advance. This allows for full hair growth, so that Marcela will be able to create the most suitable and desired shape for eyebrows (or best results on the face). If having eyebrows threaded, be sur to have minimal eye makeup on. Marcela will clean the area to be threaded, but often eyes water during treatment and having lighter makeup will be helpful.
It is recommended to not tweeze between appointments. By tweezing, you interrupt the growth cycle of some hairs and not all, making it harder to effectively remove all unwanted hair at your next threading appointment.
